The space between.

A publication study in pacing, contrast and negative space.

02 / The studio

One point of view.
Many surfaces.

Cavonero is an independent editorial studio for considered brands. The name means black cable: a simple connection, carrying a clear signal.

Our starting point is the relationship between type, image and space. Every surface should feel like part of the same thought.

01

Identity

A name, a mark, a way of speaking. The visual and verbal elements that give a brand a coherent point of view.

Naming · Visual identity · Brand systems

02

Editorial

A sequence worth spending time with. Type, image and structure for publications and the printed objects around them.

Publications · Art direction · Print design

03

Digital

A considered place on the web. Clear content, deliberate interactions and an identity that holds together on every screen.

Website direction · Interface design · Digital identity

03 / Working together

Good questions.
Deliberate decisions.

A starting framework for a conversation. Each project needs its own scope, pace and set of deliverables.

  1. 01

    Find the signal.

Start with what you are making, who it is for and what needs to change. A useful brief makes room for the right questions.

  2. 02

    Give it a form.

Explore a clear direction through type, image and composition. Discuss the choices in context, before extending them into a system.

  3. 03

    Make it hold together.

Develop the agreed direction across the relevant surfaces. The scope, deliverables and timing belong in a written agreement.

Before you write

A few useful starting points.

You do not need a polished brief. A short note is enough to begin.

  • What are you making, and who is it for?
  • What is working already — and what needs attention?
  • Which surfaces do you need help with?
  • Is there a timing or budget constraint we should understand?
