The question

What makes a collection of pages feel like a single object?

An imagined monograph pairs a strong cover with a quieter interior. A repeated arch acts as the subject, graphic motif and organising device across the study.

Inside the study

Three deliberate choices.

  • Cover composition
  • Spread system
  • Graphic motif
01

A cover with one idea

A single number and title establish the hierarchy. The cover uses a solid field rather than a collection of competing messages.

02

A recurring shape

The arch appears as both a line drawing and a cropped form. Repetition creates a relationship between pages without making every spread identical.

03

A visible rhythm

Generous margins sit beside compact captions and folios. These repeated positions make space for different amounts of material.
