An opening with a pause
A short phrase is set at a large scale. It establishes a distinct entrance before the denser editorial material begins.
Study 02 / Editorial & art direction
A publication study in pacing, contrast and negative space.
Original concept study
Not commissioned client work
The question
An imagined publication becomes a study in contrast. A large opening statement gives way to a smaller, measured reading grid. Space is treated as part of the sequence, not as leftover paper.
Inside the study
A short phrase is set at a large scale. It establishes a distinct entrance before the denser editorial material begins.
Narrow columns, a recurring folio and a common baseline give the reader landmarks. The image can change shape while the underlying structure remains familiar.
One red circular field interrupts the black-and-white spread. It is part of the artwork, rather than a competing navigation colour.
